Sue Goddard, AAGO, joined the Grace staff on September 2, 1956, after graduating with honors from Agnes Scott College in 1955, and then earning the Associateship certificate from the American Guild of Organists in June of 1956. While serving on the staff of Grace, Sue has been associated with The Temple and Northside Drive Baptist Church, and has been the staff accompanist of the Georgia Tech Chorale, the Colson Chorale, and the Choral Guild of Atlanta. For fifteen summers she was the accompanist for Hinshaw Publishing Company's CELEBRATION workshops. She has served in leadership positions in the Atlanta chapters of the Choristers Guild and the American Guild of Organists, of which she is a former dean. Currently Sue serves as Coordinator of the Atlanta AGO chapter exams.

In December 2005 a scholarship was established in her honor by the Peachtree Presbyterian church to reward music students at Agnes Scott College.

Sue's 50th anniversary as Organist of Grace United Methodist Church was observed on September 3, 2006 through the presentation of a new stained-glass window in the narthex as a permanent record of gratitude from the congregation, as well as the enlargement of the Schantz-Widener organ to its present 101 ranks.

Sue and her husband Bill Goddard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005, and are the parents of John, Laura, and Alan, and are grandparents of Eric, Jordan, Hannah, Sara, and Elizabeth.

Do you enjoy a casual style of worship?

If you prefer an informal worship experience, join us on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in the Mary Hogan Fellowship Hall for our Contemporary Worship Service.” We dress casually, we sit at tables and drink coffee during the worship service, but there is nothing casual about the sincerity of our desire to praise and worship our Creator! Our Grace Church Worship Band (consisting of vocals, drums, acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars and keyboard) leads the congregation with upbeat praise songs. The messages by Dr. Jim Howell are always Bible based with practical applications and teachings of His word for His people. Come join us for an amazing worship experience!
